Biography

Mr. Stephen Mugamba is a public health researcher and program management specialist with over 20 years of experience in HIV prevention science, epidemiology, clinical research, health communication, and community engagement.

He holds a First-Class Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication with a specialization in Health Communication and a Diploma in Education from Kyambogo University. He also earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) with Distinction from Uganda Martyrs University (UMU.

Currently serving as a Programme Associate at the Africa Medical and Behavioral Sciences Organization (AMBSO), Mr. Mugamba contributes to the design, implementation, and management of research and public health programs.

Throughout his career, he has provided leadership and technical support to multidisciplinary teams, helping to strengthen research operations, stakeholder engagement, and the translation of scientific evidence into effective public health interventions.

His work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented at numerous national and international scientific conferences. His research interests include HIV prevention, implementation science, community engagement, health communication, and strategies to improve health outcomes in resource-limited settings.
