Dr. Nakakande Joan M

Dr Nakakande is a medical doctor with a First-Class degree in MSc Public Health. As a newly appointed research associate, on the lookout for PhD scholarships in Implementation Science, she is an enthusiastic achiever, who is working on publishing papers as she academically can.

Her ambition is evidenced by the elevation she took in AMBSO from the time she was recruited. Her initial role as a study medical officer on a vaccine trial took her a step further to becoming a study coordinator for an HIV PrEP study, while supplementing roles of study medical officer on another pediatric HIV study, prostate cancer study and also coordination of a qualitative study on boosting maternal vaccination.

Dr. Nakakande supported the administrative and financial arm in oversight of site leadership at the Masaka site while heading the section of clinical trials.

She also has an added skill set in drafting and reviewing study documents from Case Report Forms, study and site SOPs and project management. With her attention to detail, she has buoyed Quality Control review of study documents and participant facing materials while in these studies to ensure quality data.
