Kyasanku Emmanuel

Emmanuel Kyasanku holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and a Master of Public Health in Population and Reproductive Health from Uganda Martyrs University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Global Public Health at Karolinska Institutet, where his research focuses on generating evidence to improve population health in resource-limited settings.

His academic and professional interests span epidemiology, behavioral sciences, HIV, mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and the application of research evidence to strengthen health systems and improve public health outcomes.

Emmanuel has been a cornerstone of AMBSO’s growth and research excellence for more than a decade. Until 2025, he served as AMBSO’s Program Director, providing strategic leadership across the organization’s research and community health portfolio.

For over seven years, he led the AMBSO Population Health Surveillance (APHS) program, overseeing the generation of critical population-based data that has informed research, policy, and service delivery.

In his early years at AMBSO, he played a key role in establishing and implementing the organization’s Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) program and Emergency Resuscitation Training initiatives, helping to expand AMBSO’s impact in clinical service delivery and capacity building.

Today, he continues to contribute to AMBSO’s research agenda as A Research Associate by participating in study leadership, scientific writing, mentorship, partnership development, and the advancement of innovative research that improves health outcomes in Uganda and beyond.
