Uganda is among the most affected countries by the HIV epidemic with 53,000 New infections in 2018 despite a 42.4% decline since 2010. While this still shows tremendous progress, the decline is slower than envisioned particularly among young women especially in fishing communities and other micro-epidemic areas that harbor key populations including commercial sex workers and migrant workers.
