Since 2022, AMBSO has been collaborating with the Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) to enhance clinical research capabilities. This partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), ensures that RHSP provides critical laboratory support to AMBSO.
Under this agreement, the RHSP laboratory assists AMBSO’s clinical research efforts by performing complex laboratory tests and offering high-level capacity for sample processing. This collaboration significantly strengthens AMBSO's ability to conduct advanced research and deliver impactful health solutions.
Additionally, AMBSO is currently hosting RHSP at our premises in Kampala, where RHSP is conducting an NIH-supported study known as "Vicinity". This arrangement not only facilitates the seamless execution of the study but also fosters a collaborative environment where both institutions can share expertise and resources. Together, AMBSO and RHSP are committed to advancing public health research and improving health outcomes in Uganda and beyond.
Lead Collaborator
Dr. Margaret Nakalanzi is an accomplished laboratory scientist, currently serving as the Laboratory Manager at the Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP). She holds a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from Jinja Medical Laboratory Training School, a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology, and a Master's degree in the same field from Makerere University. With extensive experience in various laboratory roles, including quality management and supervision, Margaret has been pivotal in achieving and maintaining accreditation for the RHSP Laboratory. Her dedication to laboratory excellence has not only benefited RHSP but also enhanced AMBSO’s laboratory capacity through a collaborative MOU between the two institutions.
